Keep all seals individually wrapped before installation to avoid direct contact with other seals or surfaces. Any damage or scratches on the surface of the seal can affect the reliability, durability, and calculated leak rate of the seal.

When touching electroplated (especially silver, tin and gold plating) seals, cloth gloves should be worn to avoid the transfer of grease from the body to the seal line.

The mounting area must be cleaned before installing the seal at the joint to ensure that the mating surface is free of foreign matter.

If you need to directly measure the seal ring, special care should be taken to prevent the caliper or micrometer from scratching the plated surface.
